How To Enable Windows Telnet Client in Vista E-mail

For some reason Microsoft decided to turn of the telnet client by default in Vista.  To enable the telnet client please follow the steps below.

 

 You will know it is not installed if you get an error message, 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Click on the windows Icon

 

Click on Windows icon

 

Select Control Panel

 

Select Control Panel

 

Select Programs

 

Select Programs

 

Select  Turn Windows Features on or off

 

Turn Windows Features on and Off

 

When the security alert pops-up select Continue.

Fild Telnet client in the list and put a check mark next to it

Find Telnet
 

Select OK

 Once it has finished it time to try it out.
