Restart Windows with the Command line E-mail

You can shutdown your pc with a simple command in Dos. It could come in very handy if you ssh or telnet into a pc.

 

Open Dos by going to start > Run (WIndows keyboard shortcut Windows + R)

 

Run

 

- Type in command or CMD

- Click OK

You should now see a Dos screen

To restart your PC type in the command shutdown -r and hit enter

 

command

 

It will give you 30 seconds to close and save anything you have open.

 

Warning

 

If you need to cancel the shutdown you can type in shutdown -a

You can also execute these commands in the run window as well

 

run
