What you will need: - FTP Client - Domain Name or IP - Username and Password - Internet connection FTP Client: To be able to upload your files to your host monster server you well need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Client. There are many free versions out on the web. A simple Google search for “Free FTP Client” will find you many options. Since I'm a big Firefox fan my favorite is FireFTP. It is a simple add-on that can be installed and configured quickly. Installing FireFTP: 1.) Install Firefox FireFTP is a Firefox add-on so you will need to have Firefox installed. (If you are not familiar with what Firefox is, it is a free web browser that is much safer and user friendly. I would definitely give it a try.) Download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html 2.) Install FireFtp Open Firefox and go to:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684 Click on Add To Firefox 3.) Restart FireFTP Now that you have FireFTP installed you will need to restart firefox. Simply close Firefox and launch it again. You may need to wait a few seconds after closing Firefox before launching it again. 4.) Configure FireFTP Go to Tools > FireFTP Click on Create New Account Enter the following Information (See information and Image below) 1.) Account Name: You can name this what ever you like. It is used to help you identify what you are connecting to. A simple example would be Host Monster server. 2.) Host: This is the name of the server you are connecting to. For example for MixedUpEric.com I would just put my domain name. 3.) Login and Password: Simple enough, this would be your Username and password. Click Ok 5.) Connecting Click on the connect Icon You will notice two sets of folders, the folders on the left should be the files locally on your computer. The folders on the right should be the files on the webserver.
To make files available to the web you will need to upload them in the public_html folder or the www folder. To Move files you can drag and Drop or User the arrows located in between your local files and the webserver.
