3 steps to getting a DVD to play on Ubuntu 7.10 E-mail

The Default DVD application for Ubuntu is Totem. In this example I will show you two commands to get Totem up and playing your DVDs.

Please note the commands in the example are how to get it working in Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon). If you are running a different version other then 7.10, these commands probaly will not work. If you are running Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) I have included the commands at the bottom of the article.

Find Your Mac Address in Linux E-mail

What is a Mac Address?

You can think of a Mac address as a serial number for your network card. It is a unique six two-digits hexadecimal numbers separated by colons. It is used for routing traffic on a network.


In this example I will show you how to find your mac address in Ubuntu. This command should work any any terminal. Some distributions of linux you may need to be logged in as SU to see this information.
